This portfolio example illustrates our web design work for Greenfield Global. We helped them with overall digital strategy, website design, development and search engine optimization.

The Client:

GreenField Global is Canada’s largest producer of ethanol and specialty alcohols. It operates seven plants in North America and produces 650 million litres per year (which sounds like a lot!)

What The Client Wanted:

The client wanted to refresh their dated looking corporate website and, along with giving it a contemporary and professional look, they wanted their internal marketing staff to be able to edit it without having to call an agency or developer. The site had to be fully responsive (so it would look good on screens of all sizes including mobile) and bilingual. The client also wanted help getting back on page 1 of Google’s search results. In 2013 the client rebranded from GreenField Ethanol to GreenField Specialty Alcohols (GFSA) and was not on page 1 for searches of their original name or their new name. Since our work with them in 2014, they have rebranded again to Greenfield Global.

The client also wanted a separate website for one of their divisions: Commercial Alcohols.

Our Approach as Web Designers

  1. We built the websites on WordPress starting with a purchased premium theme which is our favourite approach because you get so much back-end design and administrative functionality built into a good premium theme for the price. We intentionally used the same theme for both gfsa.com and comalc.com to make them easier to manage.
  2. We then customized the themes and by the time we were done the average visitor wouldn’t know the sites were built on the same theme.
  3. We integrated photography from their photography library throughout the site.
  4. The site is fully responsive which means it works beautifully on screens of all sizes including mobile phones and tablets.

Let us know if you are interested in a a website refresh for your company. We’d be happy to discuss your project with you.
